Welcome to the Happy Thumpers 4-H site. Happy Thumpers was one of the first 4-H clubs established in Indian River County. After many, many years the club is still going strong and has stayed true to its roots. Happy Thumpers started out as a rabbit club and continues on as a small projects club with its main focus being rabbits and cavies. Our members range in age from five years old all the way up to high school seniors. The club meets twice a month, from the beginning of September through to the Firefighters Fair in the spring and a few times after. Our meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesdays at 6:30pm at the County Administrative Complex building B.
Members of the Happy Thumpers 4-H club spend time learning about their projects including the parts of the rabbits, cavies, chickens and citrus. They learn how to properly care for their projects as well as how to recognize and treat illness and disease. Happy Thumpers members place well at the fair and continue to impress the judges with their showmanship skills and knowledge.
The club also participates in various community service projects and fundraisers throughout the year.
4-H is not just a club, but rather the foundation of life skills and lifelong friendships.
Joining the club is easy. You can contact one of the leaders/co-leaders or simply attend our first meeting on August 23rd, 2016.
